No individual opening or closure has been verified for this log yet. This does not mean none occurred.

Dated convenience-zone status history

Each row is a statewide CalRecycle Convenience Zone Status directory check with All Counties and city blank. The four classifications reconcile to the displayed total; they describe zones, not unique centers. A net status-total change does not establish which individual zones changed status.

What these numbers mean

On October 22, 2026, we searched the CalRecycle Recyclers / Processors Programs directory with Recyclers selected, Processors unselected, All Counties and city blank. The directory displayed 1,315 items, a net increase of one from the identically scoped October 15 snapshot. These are certified recycler-program listings—not a daily census of operational walk-in buy-back centers. A certification can exist before operation begins, and operating hours or availability can change. CalRecycle's consumer locator is the better place to check where to redeem today.

A difference between comparable dated directory counts is a net listing change, not a count of openings or closures. New and ended certifications appear separately only when an official record identifies the center, its certification and action date. This page is not automatically updated daily; the date beside each count tells you when it was verified. Source-backed snapshots remain in the dated history rather than replacing older figures.
