Privacy Policy
How this independent platform handles information submitted by visitors.Updated October 26, 2026.
Information collected
The newsletter form collects a name, email address, optional organization, role, selected topics, consent time and subscription status. It also stores a hashed private management token and any account-based email confirmation time. Short-lived hashed request keys are used to limit form abuse; the rate-limit records do not store a raw IP address. Direct emails and consulting requests contain the information the sender chooses to provide.
Ask AI assistant
If you use Ask AI by typing, your question, recent conversation turns and selected excerpts from this website are sent to OpenAI to generate a response and may be searched against current web sources. If you start a live voice conversation, microphone audio is sent directly to OpenAI over a temporary Realtime connection; the resulting speech transcription and assistant replies are shown in the conversation. The website does not save assistant questions or answers as conversation transcripts. Hashed request keys are used for short-lived usage limits and do not contain the raw IP address. Do not enter or say personal, confidential or sensitive information. OpenAI processes requests under its own service terms and data controls.
Recycling Experience Survey
The survey stores the structured ratings, location details, narrative, recommendation and public supporting link you choose to provide. Name, organization and email are optional. Survey submissions enter a private owner review queue and are not published automatically. Contact information is never included in public survey summaries. De-identified answers are eligible for public summary only when the respondent grants that permission. A survey response does not subscribe you to the newsletter and is not an official government complaint.
Policy Pulse quiz and recommendations
These forms store the role and answers or recommendation you submit, an optional public source link, optional name and email, and the submission date. Submissions are private until reviewed and are not published automatically. Short-lived hashed request keys limit form abuse without storing your raw IP address in the form database. They do not enter you in a prize drawing or subscribe you to the newsletter.
Policy Workshop
The workshop stores a signed-in account identifier and email, the public credit name and optional organization you provide, your submission, consent time and review history. Account identifiers and emails are not included in public records or the software release. New contributions are visible to their author and editors until reviewed; approved contributions and decisions may be published with your chosen credit. Please remove confidential and personal information before submitting. A workshop contribution does not subscribe you to the newsletter.
How information is used
Submitted information is used to deliver requested updates, respond to inquiries, administer the platform, analyze recycling experiences and recommendations, and protect the platform from misuse. It is not sold for commercial use.
Sharing and retention
Information may be processed by service providers necessary to host the website or deliver requested communications, and may be disclosed when legally required. Information should be retained only as reasonably necessary for these purposes.
Newsletter choices
Use your private subscription link or sign in with the registered email at newsletter preferences to change topics or unsubscribe. New public registrations remain unconfirmed until email ownership is verified. Email delivery is currently awaiting a verified sender connection. A private management link grants access to that subscription’s preferences; keep it private.
Your choices
You may request correction or deletion of information you submitted, or withdraw newsletter consent, by emailing info@recyclingpolicy.org. Include a survey reference number when the request concerns a survey.
Security
Reasonable safeguards are used, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
