Contribution and review guidelines

A useful public record depends on relevant evidence, respectful participation and clear decisions.

What to contribute

Suggest replacement wording for an identified section, provide a public source with an explanation of its relevance, or describe a constitutional or public-rights concern with the provision, facts and proposed correction. Distinguish direct experience, documented facts and opinion. Identify your relationship to the issue and any material financial or organizational interest in your explanation.

Public credit and private account information

You choose a public credit name and optional organization. Your sign-in identifier and email are stored privately to associate submissions with your account and administer the workshop. They are not included in public contribution records or the software download. Your reviewed text, sources, credit name, organization and editorial response may be published.

Permission to review and publish

You retain ownership of your original contribution. By submitting, you confirm that you have the necessary rights and grant Karim Ameri and Recycling Policy & Industry a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, review, edit, reproduce, publish and incorporate the material into workshop drafts and related policy publications, with appropriate credit. This permission does not transfer ownership of your work or place all policy content under the software license. Link to third-party documents rather than reproducing material you do not have permission to submit.

Moderation and decisions

New contributions are private to their author and the editorial desk until reviewed. Karim Ameri is the founder and lead editor responsible for published workshop drafts. An editor may publish a contribution for discussion, accept it, decline it with an explanation or hide it for privacy, abuse or other moderation reasons. Accepted evidence is marked as considered; it is not automatically verified or adopted. Accepting replacement wording against the current draft creates a new published version. Earlier published draft versions remain available.

Respectful participation

Do not submit threats, harassment, discriminatory abuse, impersonation, spam, confidential business information, personal records or unsupported allegations presented as established facts. Explain policy concerns with evidence. Material may be withheld or removed when needed to protect privacy or the integrity of the discussion.

Independent community process

The workshop is not a government agency, legislative filing service or formal public-comment portal. Submit official comments through the instructions and deadlines issued by the responsible agency. Workshop participation does not extend legal deadlines or suspend existing requirements. Constitutional conclusions require qualified legal review.

Corrections and privacy requests

Contact info@recyclingpolicy.org with the proposal link and contribution reference to request a correction, moderation review or removal of personal information. Published copies may persist outside this website; necessary audit records may be retained subject to applicable law.

Software improvements

The separately identified Open Policy Workshop software release uses the MIT License. Software contributions intended for inclusion in that release must be your own work or appropriately licensed and submitted under the same MIT terms. See the software release and contribution instructions.
